View Full Version : WIP, RTS vehicle: Japanese Chi-Ha Shinoto

I have a problem with the texture for this WWII Japanese tank. It's a low poly (2800) model for a RTS game. I'm not used to texturing but to modelling. Can you give me some tips about how to improve the texture? It's partly copied and pasted from my high poly reference model I did and partly hand painted (Wacom tablet). The texture is a 512X512 *.tga file with an alpha channel for the sprockets and wheels. Although the transparency didn't render in Max but I know how to switch that on in game.

I'm not happy with the texture because I lost a lot of detail and crispness compared to the high res materials in Max. I tried Render to Texture to get better results but it wasn't better.
