Hi people,
I was using Combustion to compile my work into a demo reel, but since it lacks a proper audio support and its editing capabilities is not as straight forward as an editor, I did a search here on CG talk to find some free editing programs. I decided to give Avid Free DV a go and I'm having some problems I couldn't find a proper solution so far:
1) I'm getting randomly crashes going back to desktop 2 or 3 times per session. I would say it's not acceptable. Im running it on a Windows XP HE, 512Mb, p4 2.0GHz. Do you guys know any stability issues with this free version ?
2) Since I can't load tiff or targa sequences in this version, I converted all my animations to quick time using no compression to get uncompressed video to be edited. After the import process, the video has artifacts and jaggie lines and poor quality overall. I've tried to adjust some settings in the import dialog window but I haven't get any improvements in quality. Is there any setting that I need to be aware of and I overlooked ?
Thx in advance,
Felipe
