Guys I'm totaly green so I hope you can help me. Till now we were rendering our animations for clinets to play only on computers so there was no problem. Now client want to play anim on his dvd player. I'm not sure how I should corectly export it from premiere. I'm using premiere to export to uncompressed avi and then using Ahead Nero Vision I create dvd. I'm in europe so it should be Pal with 25 frame rate this i know. BUt what about fields. What should I choose in premiere (upper or lower first. Should I tick, Optimize stills ( i got some in this presetation)?

ps. WOW it's mine 1000 post :)

Hi,

This depends in what kind of compressor you're exporting... But it's very easy, TV is upper, so the DVD must be too. DVD's are mpg2, the files must be upper then. Uncompressed and anything, (except ! DV) is upper. So the only format who is differend is DV, lower thus, don't use that, cause looks like hell for animation.

What I do, is export the animation in afterFX or the editing software as uncompressed (8bit 4:2:2 or higher) quicktime (or avi) and then put it into compressor, cleaner or compression master (you have such things on pc too) to make the mpg2. You can also do that with quicktime. The sound is done seperatly.
