CGTalk - Uv Texture Editor?

Hiya, I'm attempting my first try at UV mapping, and am making a soda can. I have the texture, and I applied a cylindrical map to my can, now in the uv texture editor when it first opens I have the modifiers. However, after i select say, a few vertices, I can no longer move any of the pieces. I've tried the Q,W,E,R,T keys however they only use the corresponding tools in the 3d space. How do I move anything in the UV texture editor?

Usually QWERT works well in the UVEditor, but you'll have to select the UVs first (select object -> F12). There are also hidden selection conversion options, when hovering the mouse over an edge or point in the editor and STRG-rightClicking on it (to shell, etc.)
