Hi,
I would like to know how to create that cool 'transition' effect seen alot in demo reels. What i mean by this is, a bit at the end there are often 'Breakdowns' then you see an image, then you see a line coming from the left to the right and then where the line comes you see another 'layer' or 'breakdown' example:

You see an image of a house, then a line comes from the left to the right which changes it to a house with an 3d alien, then you see a line that comes from the left and goes to the right which changes it in to another coler (collor correction) I don't know if you understand me, i hope so atm i can't find a demo reel that has it but i will soon... But if you understand me, how is this done?

The simplest way to achieve this would be to take two layers (1 with a wireframe and another with the finished rendering for example) and then "reveal" the second layer with a mask, animated from left to right.
Then you could add glow+blur on the edge of the mask, add text to give more infos for the breakdown etc etc...endless possibilities ;)

In Final Cut Pro, this transition if achieved by using the Edge Wipe. I'm sure it's a similar transition in Premiere, Vegas, Avid, etc.

After Effects, take a line and move it across the screen with a rectangular mask that moves with the line to reveal the next shot.
