View Full Version : Maya4.5 and Geforce 4 Ti4200. Does this work?
MrWyatt 11-19-2002, 08:52 AM I plan to buy Maya 4.5. But my machine runs with a Geforce 4 Ti4200 64MB DDR. Are there any known problems with this configuration? Do I have to buy a Pro-Card such as Fire-GL or Wildcat? A friend of mine runs Maya 4.0 with a Geforce 2 and it works well, exept that Paint Effects is a pain in the ass, as far as computationtimes.

It should work fine i think there are some overlay problem with geforces thats why you get painfx problems..
Have a look on the A|W site for a listed of supported hardware, they have a pretty good run down of which cards do and don't work and what bugs they have.

It works Great I have a 4600 and no bugs I am not sure if there is still the small problem with the tracing red on the brush marker for pfx. I think if u turn on force redraw or somthing like that it goes away

I have the Geforce 4 Ti4200 64MB DDR and Maya 4.5. It runs a bit slow but I think it's because of my processors (i need to upgrade my motherboard). Otherwise it NEVER crashes! :D

I would not recomend buying it now > after GF FX hits the market the prices should fall and you'll be able to buy maybe ti4600 :) Another option is to wait for Radeon9500. But that's up to you.

I want to buy Maya, not a new card. I just wanted to know if maya would work well with the card I have.
