View Full Version : girly mecha

I've been browsing on the board sfor a while now, and I thought it was about time to get some proper critique ; )
the subject is probably old but I am trying to avoind the obvious cliches (honest) ..
basically I modeled the skin (mostly for modeling practice) as boundaries for what are soon to be lots of mechanical parts etc ..
she is supposed to be manga-ish, but mainly I am just looking for some critique regarding propertions (and ofcourse all other comments are welcome aswell ) ..

the backbone bothers me, though... i think that if you widen the gap between the metal backbone and the rest of the flesh-like of the back that it would help define each as separate objects.

Nice modeling and the lighting for the demonstration is pretty nice too.
2 things I could suggest would be to merge more the back neck metal into here back. In the view where we see her from front, it seems a bit odd.
second thing would be to shrink the hands a bit, they seem out of proportion.
Hope this helps.

personally I like the larger hands...(unless your going for absoulute anotomical correctness) but I kinda like the way it is.

WoW, that's great. It is just mechanical enough to be creepy.:)

well the idea was that I was going to replace the smooth skin with an almost completely mechanical body, but think more rusty old pnuematics etc rather then anime style mecha.

though i think that her hands in whole schould be formed round (bowellike) and less straight fingers, depends on intention, especially w/ androids. shos a good job
