Overview: currently seeking experienced Environment Artists to work on next generation console title.

In general, artists should be masters of Maya and Photoshop and have shipped at least 1 console game.

Work with game designers to help design,build, texture, and light level environments for a 3D action-adventure game



Responsibilities: You will work with a level designer as a team to accumulate the appropriate level of reference material upon which to base design of your level You will also work closely with the project Lead Artist to create and maintain the vision of the game. This role requires that you be able to work within the various constraints of the consoles for which we develop.Must be willing to learn to document art process and track tasks throughout game development cycle.
Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
Must have a passion to create the best quality artwork possible.


Qualifications: - At least 2 years game experience modeling, texturing and lighting environments.
- Strong technical art skills required for creating optimized levels (memory and texture limitations, collisions issues, streaming and loading etc.)
- Expertise of level texture painting and UV applications skills.
- Verify art asset performance and appearance in the game engine.
-A strong technical aptitude related to 3d modeling tools and game engine technologies (Maya Prefered)
-Work with game designers to help build, texture, and light level environments for a 3D action-adventure game.

- Must be very creative, with the ability to adapt to different game styles

- Team player, self-starter

-Assist as needed in the generation of additional art assets for the project.
• Manage individual work schedule and alerts art lead to any changes in planned schedule or tasks.
• Attend project meetings or staff meetings
• Participate in art reviews
• Identify art tool needs and communicate needs to art lead.
• Provide documentation of processes as required, assisting peers in efficiently learning updated or new methodologies..
• Seek out guidance from art lead and other experienced artists to provide the best quality artwork and most efficient methodologies.
-Must be willing to work within team environment and accept direction from art lead
-Must be willing to learn to document art process and track tasks throughout game development cycle.
-Must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
- Must have a passion to create the best quality artwork possible for any game genre or platform that is assigned.
Capable of creating any aspect of a 3D game environment including modeling, texturing and lighting of cityscapes, architecture and world objects

Thorough knowledge of UV-mapping, texture-paging, tiling

Fluent knowledge of Maya and Photoshop
· Strong understanding of various architectural styles and influences
· Proven experience with a major 3d package (Max, Maya or XSI) to create objects and environments
· Strong knowledge of Photoshop
· skilled at creating next-gen textures (normal, diffuse, specular etc.) and a strong understanding of shader networks
· Possess a sincere desire to collaborate with other disciplines on the team
· Must be able to create visually stunning environments
· A portfolio demonstrating exceptional artistic skills in traditional and digital medium
