hey everybody, its been a long time since I posted anything (busy busy) but I was wondering if you all could help me out with something, especially you animators and character setup artists. Heres the deal. I have been doing a lot of anatomy studies over the last few weeks, and although my skills are growing Im finding myself LOST IN WIRES. After looking through a lot of tutorials out there its become really hard to figure out the right and wrong way to layout a model. So I figured we could chat about the best way to set up a character for animation.

Lets start with hands... Idealy this is how I would set up a hand for animation ... If you see a problem area, or can think of a better way to go about it please let me know.

some of your construction in your wireframes looks a little different. You might have some problems animating that in the future. Especially in the hand. I know you've got 4 sided faces, but even still, some of your wireframe looks a little cluttered.

However, it's not bad modeling you have a good proportions and good shapes.

A couple of things on your structure though. The hand looks a little flat. More so on the palm side. You're going to want to define those fleshy parts in the hand a little better. Also the breasts, you really want those to be spheres. As in the construction lines will be circles that get smaller towards the nipples. And I think you'll get better results in shape this way.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the advice... can you specify where, in the hand, needs fixing? I mean other than the natural shape? or do you just mean that the mesh should be more uniform? (the space scale of each poly should be relatively the same)
