im using cinema 4d now, and im thinking of switchind to 3ds max or maybe maya. i just feel limited by cinema, and frankly im frustrated. i was hoping to get some info from 3ds users.
would you reccomend 3ds?
is it better in any way from other programs?
is it user freindly? if not can i adapt [supposing u dont know me]?
and how great is character studio?
does it really somplify character animation and creation?
i hope you can help. thanks! :wavey:

1)4)5) I would reccomend 3ds max 5, not 4 or older. It has great poly modeling tools, great uvw mapping, good render (I dont render much), and good animation (i have used only mirai for animation besides 3ds max). Character studio is not great imho. All it is, is a crowd simulator (which might be good) and a "biped" figure, which is basically premade bones, but if u are serious about your animation, or have a complex character , u can for get biped. I think its a waste of money unless u need crowd simulation.
2) Is it better than any other program, sure its better than ms paint, for 3d, and worse than ms word for document editing.
3) Yes, its is pretty user friendly once u get the workflow down. It may seem crazy at first, but it becomes second nature pretty quick.
your welcome

He pretty much sumemed it up, theres nothing to it MAX rules, its easy and it can do everything MAYA can do so its really just on user pref, but I recoment max, its mucho easy,

i dunno about it doing everything maya can, but most of it. and maya cant do everything max can. So its all preference. I suggest trying Gmax, and Maya PLE first, to see what u like better. I bet its 3ds max. :applause:
