Looking for a DECENT character skinning tutorial

either you can purchase a gnomon video on skinning, or you can jump right into it with the paint weights tool. painting the weights is tedious, however it is pretty straightforward. the only trick is knowing where to weight it, and that, of course, is character dependant, and not universal.
