View Full Version : Desert Surface
raphii 11-09-2005, 03:33 PM High I need to create a desert environment simular to the pictures below. I want to do it with procedural shaders. Somehow I just can't manage to get my noise to look like the wavy desert surface. I allready looked on deepshade, but didn't find anything. If anyone knows other cool shader-sites, please post. Thanks!

Use the distorter shader in your bump channel. Use noise scaled wide on the one of the axes, and then use another noise for the distorter. You could get a nice wavy procedural that way.
Otherwise, create the shader in photoshop and do it as a bitmap.
I can post an example in a moment.
