View Full Version : linking objects
rickey_de 11-09-2005, 10:46 AM Maybe somebody could point me in the right direction here!
I want to link an objects rotation to another objects position.
For example; ROT Object-A 10 Degrees on X-axis moves object-B 2 units on Y-axis.
thanks in advance

Hi,
you can use Wire parameters to link any variables to another.
If right-click Object-A you can find the Wire parameters command,
then simply find the parameter you want to Wire (Rotation X) and
click another object and find Object-B translation Y.
Then choose the direction you want the connection to work
and Connect.
You can add simple math in the boxes below (Rotation X * 3 ...or +,-,/...)
to speed, slow and offset things.

thanks for the quick reply.
I had already got to the parameters command box but was having difficulties with the SIMPLE math!
With me it says, Z_Rotation and so I have now added *10 and it works ok ( speeds up ). I seem to have had some difficilty defining how to write the formula.
thanks for clearing that up though.
