View Full Version : Lofted Surfaces
Project813 11-18-2002, 12:13 PM This may be a very elementary question, so be warned. :p
I have modeled something, and grouped it. when I duplicated the group, there are 2 lofted surfaces that dont move with the new group.
Although theyre still listed as part of the group in the outliner...
Is this normal?

try to delete the history before duplicating.
hope this helps.

I know the history takes up a lot of calculations, but deleting it kind of sets the object in place, or a permanant state?

deleting the history means that you can't manipulate the object's construction. in this case you can't modify the shapes for modifying the loft object. some cases the history contains translate, rotate, scale values that can be confusing.
so if you delete the history your object will no longer affected by the objects you used to create it, you can freely move, rot, sc it.
but you can only modify the object with the vertices and other components. or you can use it to produce other geometry.
in general workflow if you model, you often delete history after you done a specific task. for performance reasons, and anyway! you don't need a 20 miles long history. you will never use that!
