View Full Version : Planning to do a animatied short on sadako story, anything I need to know
amfantasy 11-07-2005, 07:42 PM I'm in high school trying to get into a college to study 3d animation. So to give my self a little edge I decided to do a little short. is there any legal stuff to watch out for.
I'm planing to use maya in linux. Is there any good video and audio editers that I can use (windows or linux)

If you're doing it just to show in a demo to get into a course, i think that's fine, though a courtesy call to the publisher or whatever might be a good idea.
Just don't send it to festivals or anything, and don't sell it.

Are you referring to Sadako as in Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes? That's a beautiful story. I became familiar with about 2 years ago when I was dating a girl with leukemia.
The story is non-fiction, and sharing her story has been the goal of a lot of people, especially her family, so if you make a film out of it, I'd be surprised if anyone objected.
