Title: Butterfly Doom
Name: Brandon H Ford
Country: United States
Software: Photoshop

This was done for the weekly drawing group at work several weeks back. I spent longer on this one than than I normally would for the weekly topics, but I kinda liked it so I kept going on it. Mostly I wanted to paint the smoke and clouds, they are tough to paint, but I am pleased with the way they came out ( yay reference. )Each week at work someone picks a topic, this pictures topic was a redesign of those little pink muscle men we all used to have, and some of us still do :). I think that about does it, let me know what you think. Thanks.

haha I used to have tons of those Muscle dudes! I like the pic it's got a fun style to it. I think the only critique is the white cloud doesn't really go with the rest of the composition, it comes off a little too "landscapey" compared to a very dynamic overall composition. The black smoke and flames came out cool, even the butterfly looks like it got some lovin. I'd say take that white cloud, bend it a little into a smiley face and drop it below the guys head a little ways so the cool spikey helmet is the dominant shape in that blue negative space. The image is already so over the top and crazy you can play god and bed a cloud if you want:)

ok just got back from your website so I had to edit this, some of your weekly pieces are great, I thought "surfer heaven" was particularly hilarious. You have some sweet styles going on. We usually do daily art at my job during lunch. Sometimes I go on a tangent and work on a piece every lunch for a while. It's a good way to save money and imporve I've found:) Keep it up, it's good to see others doing this.

Thanks for the Crit, I'll try to warp up the cloud tonight when I get home, I have a sickness when it comes to the slanty clouds, ALWAYS WITH THE SLANTY CLOUDS I AM!!! But you are correct, it does kind of break the flow of the picture. Thanks for checking out my site as well, I would like to do a daily sketch group but weekly is about all I can handle at the moment, perhaps in a few weeks I'll have the time.
