First of all, love the concept sketch, totally fun and cute. The model falls pretty short though, there are a lot of changes you made that I don't think work in the characters favor. You've segmented and pulled his shoulders up and away from the torso, shortened the torso, and just generally emphasized anatomy where you have good, clean, simple shapes and lines in the sketch. The eyes seem farther apart, and the jetpack seems too small. If you can make your model look just like your sketch you will have a really hot project here!

Yes, yes, and yes. You are very correct. When I finished I had realized some of the stuff you mentioned. I added the anatomy because I was afraid I would mess up on doing all the edge loop stuff. I also ran into problems with the rocket which is why I shrunk it down, but you are right the model could be a lot closer to the concept.

Do you happen to know if there is a way to model a character in 3DS max and then rig it but allow for slight modifications to the model later on?
