Hi!

Everyone seems to be steaming in and having a go at making vehicles for the first time in their lives - so heres my shot!

First time using hypernurbs to model something too, very impressed - but I dont know what the joiners and metalworkers in our workshop would say to me if I gave them a drawing and asked them to build it....hehehe. ( well I do know actually, "wheres the !!@@£!£in dimensions!" )

Its started off as a practice run for what i plan to be my first proper vehicle. It sort of developed into what I think looks like a 1970`s van? dunno?!

I post the mesh to, i dont know much about this sort of modelling - but im pretty sure that its a bit of a mesh (mess - sorry).. Seems a bit busy compared to the elegant solutions I see around here..

Anyway, have a look!:thumbsdow

This reminds me of the Postman Pat - series (ring a bell anyone??=) except he had a red one.. If you would like the windshield and the hood to be uniform (not a visible seam) try deleting the side polys on the symmetry axis and move all the points exactly on the axis (Structure manager-> Point mode -> move the points to 0 on your symmetry axis). I like this style somehow - keep going!

Yup - definately Postman Pat - its cute. Make it red and put it on a little bridge and you're done!

yup, that's pat's van... we're sad... anywayz.. really good for a first, but... i see two things that could be better... firstly.. you could somehow clear the mesh around the mirror, as the triangles are tearing the nurbs.. and... why is the mirror behind the window?!:bounce:

great job anyway

Cheers for feedback guys!

Heres latest wip, made the windsheild as one (cheers Peoples!) - also moved the mirrors to the right place (doh! - thanks DeathCarrot!)

Lost the side windows, wasnt really happy with them - will look at that later!. Direction for this now seems to be some sort of scale model of a custom car...Gonna stick a texture on the side to see what it looks like.

Cheers,
