View Full Version : Character: book "Mystic Deja "
ambassador 11-17-2002, 10:22 PM Hello all,
This character was created for a job about 9 months ago for a book cover. The book recently hit the shelfs, so I am able to show it to the public now. The book is a series so I am still working on characters and posters for the book.
1 light, no radiosity, no raytrace:)

I first got interested in 3d art and started saving up to get LW after seeing Ray Sena's work and chatting with him. All of his work is just filled with imagination and skill, and they're always full of 'wow'. This pic is no different and it's a breath of fresh air to see an atypical female character posted on these boards. I love her design although I think the hat could use some more detail and I wish there were a tad bit of transparency through the lenses. All I wanna know now is what book this is for and what's the clock belt for?
:buttrock:
right... book's name is Mystic Deja... missed that before.

very nice work but.......
1 light, no radiosity, no raytrace
Sorry, dont buy it :)
is it HDRI lighting? Final Gather? Or a pugin/map in the diffuse..........the way you said it it sounds like all it is is a light and nothing else which in ANY renderer would leave nasty black shadows and a very hard edge look to it.

thanks all,
Merkry,
How long ago did we speak, I have a horrible memory:wip: . Theres no real transperancy on the glasses because the client wanted this. The book is called "Mystic Deja", and is being sold online untill december, when it will hit the shelfs.

hehe, nope, no HDRI lighting, final gather, baked maps or pugin/maps or luminosity. Its all in the surface itself, using a combonation of shaders, which are ok on their own, but when mixed together create the need for less lights among other things.

Are you using the LumenUmbra LightShaders plugin for this?
