Im now unemployed so I have more time for 3-d stuff but am unfortuatly back on my laptop and a 56k modem :thumbsdow
I am tring to place this logo on a t-shirt the shirt is just a red and I am using the decal as an extra texture with an alpha and flat mapping it on the front.
1: why isint the black in the letters showing up?
2: is there an easy way to stop it going straight through and being reverse on the back
any help would be great

Hi,

Theres a front, back, front and back option in the texture dialouge box when you apply the mat to your object. I think you need to select front only. This is dependent on which way your normals face, but it should work straight away?

With your texture, post a pic of your alpha - might shed some light?

Sorry to hear about your job....:thumbsdow :thumbsdow

Bummer about the job bud.

Sounds bizarre but try inverting your alpha and see what happens. Also try frontal mapping or decal mapping which is for what you want to do really :)

damn thats harsh bud...
anyways...i'd go with kiwi on this...what about trying with a different colour first...then maybe you can narrow it down bit by bit. by the way the little fella is coming along very nicely.
hope you become gainfully employed...or is that employable shortly...good luck.

to map your texture on the front only, make a selection of the front polys and restrct teh textuer to that selection

for the black, make sure that you use a black colour as opposed to no colour. don't have "mix with otehr textures" on the logo materail.

Bud enough of the defeatist attitude already :) ...Weta has hundreds of people from all over the globe wanting to work there, with BAs in animation, fine art etc,so dont get dejected there because your CD would be judged against people who have years and years of experience either in varsity or in the business.Start a bit slower send your CD to some ad agencies and see how that goes.

Heres what I am going to do if my health ever evens out.I am going to get my modelling, texturing, animation skills to a level where my work sells itself,I mean I am 34 and pretty sick, but screw that I say and I will let my work speak for me:thumbsup:

no no no I didnt mean Weta were nasty, I was implying the opposite they were very nice, helpfull and encouraging, considering how many folios they must get. It was abit bizare to be put thorugh to some kind of high up people for a chat on the phone when called.
Thanks for the encouragement Stu hope your not too ill, keep posting the work and we will keep giveing constructive crits:thumbsup:
