Hello everybody.
Even though I'm not a regular, I have found all the answers I was looking for in here, so far. Right now, I have another problem.
I was given a 2d drawing (*.dwg) of a house, made with Autocad. All aspects of the house is visible (every side of it, top views, floor plans etc.) in the file (I opened it with Free Dwg Viewer). To visualize it in Maya, I imported it to Maya but only thing I see is part of one floorplan - I have read previous threads about dwg plugin, far clipping, scene optimizing...
What I want is to know is:
whether I can convert this 2d drawing to a 3d model and then import it into Maya or not
do I need Autocad to do this? Is there a "make-3d-from-2d" button in it, or as a 3rd-party utility/app?
is there an other -maybe harder but efficient- way of doing this? By "this" I mean, make a 3d file that I can use inside Maya...
Thank you very much for your time reading this post, and I will be looking forward to your answers.
