View Full Version : Texture Baking with Mental Ray
goldenarm 11-04-2005, 04:31 PM I'm using FG in 6.5 to prelight a model then baking to texture. I've been tweaking my settings and can't seem to get rid of these white spots. Any help would be appreciated.

Were you using the Enable Map Visualizer when you were baking the texture to a file?

Thanks Slipknot. I dont think so? I'm not familiar with that feature. I looked in the Render Globals for MR, is it in there somewhere???

I'm currently working on batch baking with mr in maya 6.5 too, still looking ways to smooth up the baked maps... anyway, i notice from the attached image, it might be the quality of FG accuracy during baking, did u set any min/max value for the FG ? if not so, i recommend u to set a 1/10 of the scene radius size for the max value, then 1/100 for the min value, these attributes are useful to smooth up the baked map.... (sorry for my poor english)
