While trying to learn animation tasks on XSI I ran into an interesting excercise I wanted to do.
Given an animation (i.e. BVH animation file), and given an XSI rig (Character->Model).

What is the easiest way to transfer animation from one animation set to the other?

I found a way to do this but it sucks:
- Go through each animation curve
- Copy the keys
- Paste the keys on the animation for the other skeleton

There has to be a better automated way, right?

Searching on the web gave me some results on how to do this using Motionbuilder, but I do not have it so I would like to find a way to do this on XSI.

Any suggestions?

easiest way is to pose constrain with constrain compensation your rig to the BVH rig. Only the up-vectors may cause problem, but I used to pose constrain them to the first bone of the respective bvh limb (upperarm, thigh etc), and it works fine. Then plot the constrained animation, remove the constrain and adjust animation according your rig
