Escaping the Forsaken Forrest

Ok.....round 2 for me....2nd try at this and woe 30 days left. Hope I make the deadline.
I'll be updating soon this image is tooo well.....not developed...so keep good watch

Heres the back story.......

A young thrill seeker lost a game of truth or dare to 5 of her friends including the pricess of her kingdom. Affraid of revealing her love for a famous knight she accepts a dare to journey deep into a dark forrest near her kingdom. It is said that the forest is haunted by the souls of warriors from a battle fought long ago.

This image depicts the events following the young maid girls entry. The knight who she has a thing for notices her in what normaly is his trianing grounds. Affraid of what may become of her he places her atop his horse and rides her out of the forrest. Saving her before she travels too deep and becomes and wondeing soul herself.
On the way out the girl notices the many ghost stairing at her as she leaves.

Hey Arch I'm not late just thought i'd put more thought into this one. The dragogs (my Master and Servant entry) was such a spur of the momment thing.

Mountains on a background very much remind mines or the Egyptian pyramids. The lock is unsuccessfully located. It is better for showing completely, well or though a greater half. The horse needs to be drawn from a nature! (or from a photo) now is not present dynamics, it has fallen asleep in air.

glad you pointed that one out dude i'll try to wake that lazy donkey up and turn it into a steed.
...oh and as for the mountains and the stupid boxes rep. the castle......think of it as a low rez....3d talk.....it's not the final...

I like your concept! I would take a closer look at the cropping of your composition though. Right now most of your image is empty, with all the critical action off to the right. I would place your main characters just left of the center and dedicate the right side of the image to the ghosts in the forest.

Hehehe, look at you, trying to speed paint again. Just a small suggestion for your composition (i know it's in the rough stage and you might be thinking of this too, but might as well say it), i would show the whole castle instead of just part of it. Maybe switch it with the mountain.

I know it's early for a critz, so pardon me for typing it :blush:

I've Also Noticed That The Image Is A Little Boring..... Not Too Spectacular Right Now. So I Changed The Camera Angle And Made A Low Shot Of The Knight And The Maid Girl ..... Had The Forest In The Background Looming Over The 2 With And A Hole Bunch Of Warriors Up In The Branches Watching Them.

I Will Show Everybody What I Mean Friday.
Can't Update Now It Takes To Long......and I Miss Out On Time Working On The Image Thanks For The Help And Support Everybody.

hey you've still got three weeks so good luck with your entry...

Horses are hard to draw so good to see you've taken that on board. I like the idea of the riders coming out of shadow into the light, though not sure what you final colour scheme is as there are still lots of white space - i also agree about moving the castle more into frame as the central area is quite sparse....still once the magic unfolds I'm sure this will be spectacular....good luck :bounce: :thumbsup:

I think this is about right for now the angle reveals character including the ghost. Theres somthing off but I can't put my finger on it.
I feel like it needs sumthing more...

OK.....laying down the colours here...I want a merking looking place so i added a water falling which means theres a river...which means fog or mist.

I have a good feeling about the mood of this image now...but I think the knight should give up his seat on the horse and walk. Plus my horse is looking like a T-rex......i'll fix that up.

not too sure what you mean...but i think is there sumthing else to add to the pic?

well...i'm thinking more ghosts.....errr more detail to the ghosts....not the bloody undead style but more like say....the cursed ghosts from Return of the King....i just watched that looking for horse ref and then I saw those guys and was like...hmmmmmm. I also think i'll be changing the position of the knight to the ground and the maid girl to the bottom.

I feel really strong about putting the knight on the ground cause it gives the maid girl the sense that he's walked down this road before....fixed the horse...and well i started the line art...gotta start building up now

hey thanks for the encouragement you close ups almost look like a story board
but you see that whole multiply layer thing try to stay away from that
you could try building up colours on top of a background colour that will resemble your final ambiance like that brown for instance, just try forming the shapes from highlights and things do tend to come out wonderfully

hi man! cool stuff, nice camera position so the perspective is working fine with the viewer, very plesent. For now the only think worth mentioned will be her nose, which seems to be in a different position that she is looking at. a bit too to the right in my opinion. keep going!

i like the composition bro and the colours are coming along nicely. Just some critzs, about those birds, they don't seem to look like they're on the background. You might want to add some trees receading upward or something that can indicate and strenghten the perspective view.

Nice image. Good composition. One thing, the big tree sort of looks like antlers. It coud use some separation from the horse's head. I love the characters. Keep up the good work
