Hi,
Okay, I'm currently writing a Cook-Torrance metal shader plug-in for 3D Studio MAX, which is going well. I have implemented the main algorithm as in the paper.
What I am slightly unsure about, and need help from someone that knows... ;), is how light colour affects the colour of the specular highlight. At the moment the colour of the highlight mostly stays the colour of the metal and isn't affected too much by the colour of the lights. (I just wanted to know whether this was correct).
Also, second point relates to Index of Refraction. This changes between light wavelengths and I was wondering whether it was possible to find out what the IoR is for green light if you know what it is for red light....
thanks for any help. I'll post the plug-in here when it's finished.
Mike
