Title: Big Boulder Mountain
Name: Jan Baughman
Country: USA
Software: Painter, Photoshop
This image is about troubling times. It’s about feeling alone in the midst of a storm. It’s about times when your troubles pile up like boulders and block your way. It’s about feeling like you’re between a rock and a hard place. It’s about looking skyward and screaming above the crashing thunder, “Who will help me move this mountain?” It’s about fearing insignificance.
This image was created using Painter and a lot of experimentation. I did some sketches for this one but they became part of the painting. The rocks, trees and ground were created using homemade nozzles and lighting effects. I used Photoshop for some color correction.
I would appreciate your comments. Have I succeeded in communicating the concept?
