A new toon Character I'm working on.

The original sketch was done by this guy: http://timkelly.deviantart.com

This is in no way meant to be critical of skills, but if Popeye and Mr Clean could have children together...well I'm sure you see the resembleance. Nice work though. BTW, I've followed some of your work...looks like you've got skillz.

lol so true about the characterization. Id say though make his hands as big as the sketch has, allmost looks like the sketch doesnt have wrists, which could work though

I gonna jump straight to the point. :)

Make his bicepts bigger. Fatten up those fingers, maybe even make them shorter. Bulk up the wrist area like in the sketch. I think he needs some ears. And his skin is more orange on your model atm rather than brown.

THanks for the sugguestions guys. I didn't get to the ears yet, which is why they aren't there. I agree with the suggestions though.

If I have some time I will make some changes in the next few days. I have a few projects going on at once so I don't have a lot of free time at all.

Don't forget to add those eyebrows in texturing. I don't know why but it always freaks me out to see models without eyebrows.

Also, the head needs to be bigger, specifically the tip of the head should be wider like in the sketch. A thicker neck as well. I also kind of like the look of the eyes in the sketch, not sure if you can properly duplicate that.

guess it's just a personal opionion rather than a crit, but i don't think the design of the character works in 3d very well. the 3d design is great, but it just looks odd in 3d to me i'm not erally sure why though.

Nichod:
The with of the shoulder is about 5 heads, I had it sced up a bit more and it didn't lok right. WWhen the arms are at rest it doesn't look like that small in comparison.
I realize the hips are a bit narrower iin the sketch, I'll see what they look lie in the model later on.

I guess it must of really freaked you out whne he didn't have any ears!?!

Itsallgood:

It takes all sorts.
I am happy how it's coming along, even though I still have some work to put into it. I see way to many realistic characters, which is great, but not enough people pushing more into toon stuff, which is what I prefer.

How would it look if you never saw the sketch?
