hm.
Is it GI rendered? Or just anything speciel going on rendering-wise?

idunno what that means but....i rendered it in 3ds max default renderer and also in brazil they gave different results but had the same kind of error....it was done in 3ds max 4 ...still dont know what gi means so i hope this was the answer 2 ur q:)

Indeed it was, GI is Global Illumination, which Brazil for instance offers. The MAX4 scanline rendere does not. To make a long story short, using GI could have explained the odd discoloring.
But since that's not the case... hm.
I can't come up with other theories based on the available information, sorry.
