This started out as a low poly environment that I was going to texture but, then I decided to go ahead and make it high res. Obviously, everything is not high res yet though. :)

Looks pretty cool so far! I want to see the progression!

Although, I don't know if I ever saw a Japanese bridge with those kind of spindles...I could be wrong, though.

I've seen similar but, to tell you the truth, I took the bridge out of another scene with a different theme I was working on and put it in this one. I might make another one that fits better.

I smoothed out the lanterns, added shingles to the roof, made the river, and that's about it.
