View Full Version : Interior Scene: The Den
jarch 11-17-2002, 07:00 AM Done in Viz4 / Max5
No pre-made models. Tapestries and rug images are actual size and image from photos.
I did the project to become more familiar with the new photometric lighting in Viz4/Max5 and to attempt to create a more realistic scene through lighting techniques.

Looks a little too clean of an enviorment. The pool balls seem small and the purple thing is kinda scary to me. :) It looks very cool, think you did a good job on it. Did you use attenuation on the lights at all or no? (Thats in max5 right?) Oh well. Looks good. Nice job.

A good work but this scene has potential for much more.
I can only recommend increased strength in "pools of light" which can increase a sense of depth. For example, a bright pool around the fire but a darker recess behind the chair. Generally, an increase in contrast this way may be beneficial.

Thank you for your comments. I made a few changes (please excuse the use of RPC people :) )
Added: Rifles over bookcase, empty glass with ice cubes and Jack Daniels, dart board and furhter adjusted lighting.
I didn't use any attenuation on the lights. Actually the lighting and final render was done in Viz4.
Oh - the purple thingy is a curtain :D I removed any self illumination from the map to increase the depth.
