I've just started using GIMP as a preference to Photoshop and it looks pretty good. Can any other GIMP users recommend a good forum (assuming CG Talk isn't the right place!) to chat to other experienced GIMP users & developers?

Forums, eh? Well, from my experience there is nothing that seems to cater to anyone other than system administrators trying to hone their photo editing skills or 16-year-olds trying to create graphical sigs and forum avatars.

I like using Gimp, but the forum situation is pretty bad.

Thanks Maruchan. Good to see i'm not going mad and missing an obvious forum. Will have to figure it out on my own!!

the only problem i've faced so far is that the layers in Gimp are not compatible with photoshop...i have to flatten the image everytime i bring it to photoshop....anyone know a workaround??(other than a copy paste per layer!!!)

I'm trying to use GIMP, because I can't afford Photoshop. I'm not all that great with it yet, but I'm learning. . .
