Run 1 Dimm in bank 0/1.
Run 1 video card.
Run the cpu and its heatsink/fan.
Don't plug anything else in. No hd's, no other cards, no other fans.
Reseat and reseat again. Verify that video card is as far in as it can go. Press the dimm down securely in the memory socket.
Make sure the pc speaker is plugged into the board, so you can record any beeps you hear.
Did you verify there were no gaps between the heatsink and cpu core before turning on the system?
After trying to reseat everything, reseat it again. A .1 mm difference in a socket can sometimes mean the difference between a booting system, and one that just sits there.
The system shutting off kinda of worries me though.
If that doesn't work, I'd try a different power supply if you have one available.
If none of that works, I'd remount the cpu/heatsink/fan unit.

i said i'm running a ECS K7S5A. the Speaker is hooked up... Nad i kbow how to build these things I'm running on an Athlon TB i built. and there realy no difrance of the way things go togeather.
I will try and run nothing but cpu/fan video. i already had a ddr dimm in back 1. and its in as far as it can go.... the other thing is this motherboard has pc133 and ddr slots.. i'm running ddr... i looked in the manual of the mb.. and there was no mention of jumpers.. but i'll try some pc133 memor in there and take out the ddr

Ok i checked the cpu and fan there mounted proporly. i disconeted everything but the 1 ddr, cpu/fan, and video. flipped it on and still no go. no power good signal... just a blank screen. i wish i had some pc 133 ram!
so i can test to see if its the ram. but all i have is pc 100. laying around. any more ideas?

The board should run with the PC100. It'll just default to a 100 FSB (200 DDR) on the chip.
At least then you can see if its working correctly.
If its been reseating a whole heck of a lot of times, and you checked the psu (Which btw, things have changed, the geforce 3 ti is new, and thats a hefty draw of power.) I assume you have at least a 300 watt, if not, pick one up (Probably a 350 to be safe) and see if thats whats causing the difficulty.
Also try clearing the cmos with the discharge jumper.
No beeps or sounds are usually the result of one of the following...
1. Not enough power, power supply switch reversed. (At 230V instead of 115v). Or Bad PSU.
2. Bad/damaged cpu. (Chipped for example)
3. Bad/damaged motherboard.
4. Loose connectors. Either dimms, video, psu cable, processor.
5. Inadequate cooling...either by heatsink not being on fully, or not completely contacting the cpu core.
Its usually 4, and if not 4 then 1. After that the only way you can determine otherwise, is if you have a spare motherboard, ram, or cpu sitting around, to troubleshoot for one of those components being bad.
