the problem is
how to generate a zdepth picture from your miniDV footage?
I don't see a magic way to do it if there are camera motions, but if it's a still BG you could paint it in photoshop, animate it's intensity and connect it to IDefocus node

What do you mean about animate intensity? like to pictures, one in a specif depth and the other out of focus, and then play around them?

but the problem is that are movie not pictures! :(

thanks guy!

You can use plugins or softwares that they can extract the "depth" of videos as Furnace 3 and PFtrack

I believe that it spoke on the animation of the effect and to use a "false" map of depth. Perhaps you also it could isolate the elements of the image (FG, BG for example)

You could also be a glutton for punishment and roto the foreground out and do it manually.

That would be HAWT (like paris hilton style)

I can only imagine the hallucinations at the end of that piece of work...
