Ive seen a lot of packages such as Vue 5 advertised at CGtalk, and it got me wondering, if made something in Vue5 and included it in a demo reel do you think a studio would not be impressed as much as they are kinda like pre made objects or do you think it would just show another package skill?

well it would depend on what you make, and how good it is. as long as you can show great artwork that youve created it shouldnt matter what you used to create it.,

Well, perhaps they are looking for someone to do some Vue work, in which case you may be in luck!. But for a general 3d artist I doubt a Vue5 only reel would cut the mustard.
My honest opinion on things like this is "why not hire the artist that has displayed high skill in creating his own stuff from scratch, i'm sure he'll pick Vue up and we can also utilize his modelling/texturing skills". The Vue only reel could be seen as a one trick pony, justly so or not.

What would impress them is if you used a primary package, but showed the use of vue to complement your shots. Eg showing the use of composition and integration of different software and plugins.

Maybe pushing vue to its limits, or using it to make thinsg that the sftware wasnt really design for?
