View Full Version : view 3d objects and animation in Quicktime!!
Gentle Fury 11-16-2002, 10:36 PM ok this is cool!
Kaydara has made an fbx plugin for Quicktime!!
you can actually watch realtime animations in your quicktime player complete with scrub controls......only prob is you cant interactively change the camera angle.......but im sure its either on the way or possible.

sorry for the newb post,
but i am in my senior year in college and i am in the first MoCap class to be offered at my univ. I have learned all the steps for using a Vicon optical system with kaydara filmbox and tarsus for realtime ... are you saying that htis new plug will replace the need for tarsus or is it just another means of rendering the data?
thx

well basically what it does is allows you to view fbx animation in real time in quicktime......pretty funny if you check out the lil samurai movie it comes with, if you pause the motion you can see their gear and hair settling in.
wow, im famous......lol

Look at the readme, it tells you how to change the camera angle along with a bunch of other keyboard shortcuts for turning lights on and off and changing the display mode between wire, flat shaded, and textured:
Shift-click-drag
Creates a crane/pan camera movement by moving both the camera and its interest. NOTE: Does not work with Orthographic cameras
(Top, Left, Right, Bottom, Front, and Back).
Ctrl-click-drag
Translates along the Z axis only, no rotation.
Shift-Ctrl-click-drag
Orbits the camera around the camera interest.
NOTE: Does not work with Orthographic cameras
(Top, Left, Right, Bottom, Front, and Back).
