View Full Version : Visual Camera ....?????????Screen????
LordEzzat 11-16-2002, 09:43 PM Ok i kinda got a dumb but i think valid question...I use Maya and when you zoom in on an object at somepoint it starts to disappear is there anyway of changing this setting so that it doesnt disappear as soon so you can get closer up on the object...so you can do finer stuff to it...in school this didnt happen as all the teacher i guess changed it before us so i never learned how to fix it, that is if there is a way to do that???
If you know of what i'm speaking about please leave me a message or email me I would very much appreciate it as I'm working on a castle and have to go inside walls and stuff to mesh some things....

I think the problem has to do with the "clipping" values of the camera. I can't remeber where this is right off hand, but you can check under the attribute editor of the camera you need. And do a search for it in the Maya online manual.
Are you sure you need to mesh everything up water tight on your castle? If it doesnt deform, you might not need to do all that work.

Thanx'z for the advice and possible fixer,as for doing it that tight Thats the way i was thought buy my teacher ...my modeling is for videogame and alot of people just crash stuff through there models like spikes or stuff, but he said makes rendering slower cause it has to think more and can cause unwanted stuff to happen to your model so i dont, I've always just kept a clean model keeping eveything tight..i could be wrong and likeyou said making more work for me but i'm hoping it'll help i guess..anyways thanx'z again and if you hear of anything else or you find someway better for he visual camera let me know...

Oh yeah, the video game thing changes all the rules. Renderer's dont care about the goemetry you can't see, but gaming engines keep track of everything. He gave you good advice.
