View Full Version : volumic lighting penetrating transparency maps

ok,
i want this volumic lighting to display light through a solid grid with a texture with an alpha channel determining where the rays of light can penetrate.

any ideas on how to do this?

I have managed to do it with a grid with a few polys missing, and enabling shadows on the light source, but this seems to take ages to render (and doesnt answer my texture prob). Any way in which i can optimise render times?

i have actually managed to do this, so no need to reply. if i could delete the post i would!!
