View Full Version : UV texture utility

Hi there.

I am struggling to find on of those free UV texture utilities that help guide in laying out UV's. If anyone knws where I can download one, I would appreciate it. I am hoping to find one that has multiple colors and numbers on it. I know there area ton out there, can anyone opint me in the right direction?

Here's mine, if you would like to use it. Others are welcome to use it as well. :)

I usually repeat/tile it so that it will be easier to see stretching etc.

Is the one I use. The circles make t easier to see slight stretch/squash, and the indivudal pixel grid lets me see the level of detail I'll get in the unwrap. I got this from someone else on here who said it was ok to share and use (I forget who it was).

Ghostscape, that one's really nice, I like how you've done that.

I seem to recal there being a program that could autogenerate these UV grids, but when I looked for it recently I couldn't find anything. Anyone know anything about it?

I've also attached mine, a friend (rbrady on the forum) came up with the idea to use noise so you can see on a pixel by pixel basis how much it's stretching and I really like how it works.

Ghostscape, yes I've sen that one before as well, can't remember who did it. But it looks really good.

N2ChristTheKing, that's a good idea to have noise in the guide. It's a lot easier to see strechting that way.

you did have a 90% chance of being right :D

Copenhagen isn't that far away... well from Gothenburg that is. I didn't notice that you live in Copenhagen.
