View Full Version : xsi v3 raycast select acting weird

Hello,
I'm having a bit of a problem in xsi v3. The raycast selection is selecting the 'other' side of the object.!!!
For instance i have a cube and i switch on raycasting and select a polygon, then the polygon at the other end of the cube gets selected and not the polygon on my side.. as if it's reversing.

can anyone help me with this?

Okay.. after a bit more tinkering I found out that I had accidently inverted the normals on my mesh. So obviously the polygons on the other side of the mesh were getting raycasted.
I probably pressed a wrong shortcut (which inverted normals) and never realised it.

Maybe this can help someone. Also realise that when the normals are inverted the wrong side of the polygon gets lit by lighting :)
