How come when I hit autokey and move an object or two in 2 directions it doesn't show all the directsion of movement. Just a kind of still slow movement..? Thanks.

AutoKey just creates keyframes automatically when you change something on a given frame. If you have an object that you move in X and then in Y on the same frame, it will create a key with those values - not in the order that you moved it. This is how keyframing works. If you want to record the motion of the object based on how you move it in realtime in the viewports, then check out the Motion Capture controller.
