While developing They Hunger, I´ve been reading the comic books Remains and Horrorcide, which both are so-so. Good inspiration nevertheless.
Google Image Search still the best tool ;)
Don´t forget all the Resident Evil titles on Gamecube.
OT: I see that you´re on Factor5, nice Ali!

Reference for modeling or animation? You could check out land of the dead movie/game, resident evil movies and games, the dawn of the dead remake, and theres also a comic book series called "The Walking Dead".

The Zombie Farm website (http://www2.gol.com/users/noman/index.htm)
Any of these films by George Romero would be a great reference as well:
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
There's Always Vanilla (1971)
The Crazies (1973)
Hungry Wives (1973)
Martin (1977)
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
Knightriders (1981)
Creepshow (1982)
Day of the Dead (1985)
Monkey Shines: An Experiment in Fear (1988)
The Dark Half (1993)
Bruiser (2000)
Land of the Dead (2005)
"Night of the Living Dead" is the gold star standard though. The best zombies come from Pennsylvania!

Shaun of the Dead.

Don't forget Lucio Fulci's Zombi 2 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080057/)
the first of 'the dead' series. Dawn and day i think are exceptional. Reanimators pretty funny/as well as shaun of the dead. The remake of dawns okish.
Sheep,
Do you know the animation 'gone bad' its a zombie animation series, pretty cool!
eek

Thanks for the help guys.
Don't forget realism, there isn't anything more gross than seeing a correctly modeled digestive tract hanging out all over the place.
Okay warning before you go clicking... I've labeled the real stuf red that might gross, blue people out and the fake drawing stuff in that probally won't gross people out.

Keep in mind alot of these examples have been preserved or cleaned up so you don't get alot of gore, just the structure. I know there are a few websites around that focus on real pictures of gore and junk like that but I'm not going to go looking for them because they bug me morally or something. They may help you though as far as reference goes.
Good luck with your zombie :)...
