View Full Version : Render current frame but then keep working?

C4D has this helpful thing called "Render to Picture Viewer" which is basically like the "Render View" window of Maya, the difference is in C4D you can still work on your scene as the image is being processed. Is there any way to do something similar in Maya? I know you can always do a single frame batch render but it's kind of a hassle.

I can only assume there's a mel script, plugin, or preference out there as this would be a common problem...

Yes, batch is one way, and I suppose you could write a script that would automate rendering jus tthe current frame outside Maya, and then displaying it, but you won't get anything like in C4D.
