hey!!

hope you guuys can help me with a little problem i have.
i would like to be able to model in hi-poly but by using a low poly proxy cage.
i've tried using the mesh smooth modifier but i can only move verts/edges around. i can't actually cut or add edges etc. is there anyway to have the smoothed model showing while being able to work on the low poly model?
i have tried going back down the stack to editable poly but then all the work in mesh smooth disappears.
i've tried adding an edit poly modifier but that just lets me work on the hi-poly model.

i remember there was a way to do this in maya 4.0 so i'm sure MAX7 should have something similar or at least a work-around. i've looked through the help but can't find anything.

hope someone can help with this.

cheers!!

go to your editable poly in the stack and hit the show end result button (you may want to enable show cage also on the nurms panel of the poly

hey!!

ha ha. nevermind guys.
looks like i was going about this totally the wrong way.
trying to make it far too complicated.
there are options for sub-division modelling at the bottom of the editable poly control panel. (incase anyone else needs this)

cheers!!
