View Full Version : Where the layouts are located?

Hi Guys ,

I installed one of the layouts from ed harris's site , i guess it was for an early version of xsi it freaks out every time I launch the application and i have to click "no" 200 times for the popups to end and the app to start.

I tried reset layout but it didnt help. I also deleted the Layouts folder under c:\softimage , it didnt change anything either. Where are the layouts stored , or how can i remove them from inside xsi?

shit I hope it wasn't one of mine

any way perhaps you dragged an addon of a layout onto your viewport, goto file>addon>unistall and then pick it from the list and unistall it

layouts are also installed in C:\users\you\Softimage\XSI_x.x\Addons\Data\Preferences\Layouts\whateverrez
and
C:\users\you\Softimage\XSI_x.x\Data\Preferences\Layouts\whateverrez

go into whateverrez folders and get rid of the layouts you don't want to use.

its also possible when you installed the layouts that you declined to install soem of the items it wanted

also I noticed that when installing ver 3, if you did, that choosing to keep user prefs from ver 2 can make some installed layouts unhappy.
