LIANG WITH FLOWERS

I did this in Painter 8. Used photo of Liang as reference. Painted from scratch.

She is a great teacher. I am learning a lot from her. She helped me quite a bit on this piece.

Flowers and Hummingbirds painted from my imagination. No references.

Used layers to put them into painting. Entire piece done with oil brushes and created in Painter 8 (no Photoshop).

Just sold this piece so won't be making any changes, but would welcome any comments and suggestions for improving my technique.

Interesting work, not my kind of illustration but still I can understand it. There are some problems with folds on her skirt and her eyes are (imho) a bit misplaced. Good luck.

Your remarks seem a little odd to me, considering two of the things the buyer
loved the most about this painting, were the face, and the dress.

Hey..How you doing Pushav,been meaning to write you,but get lost in my
painting,you know how it is. Hope everything is good with you.
Yes,I sold another one.The woman who does my framing fell in love with it.
The face, dress, and colors, she said were great, said she had to have it.
Makes all the work seem worth it.
Well, I'm doing this typeing, and my finger is getting tired...Ha Ha..

Hey I didn't know you can use the ref for your own work...I thought it's only to practise drawing for Rebeccak and crew's anatomy thread. Well...fair and fine by me.:shrug: :)

I did ask permission FIRST and was given the OK by Rebecca.
She said it was OK as long as people were participating in the forum and
giving the model the credit they are due.

and I only have one tired finger (considering I haven't learned to type with two yet).
And of course, I did use your special custom brushes throughout the painting...
on her skin especially. Worked great....
Waiting to see your next blocked in color figure on the forum. I like your colors and that style. Want to see more!
