View Full Version : Save for older version use! ASAP!
MasonRoberts 10-27-2005, 03:30 PM Hey guys,
Is there anyway you can save a PSD file for a version below it? I am using 7 and my school computer only has 6? How can I do this? An answer ASAP is best! Thankyou!

Edit --> Preferences --> File Handling
Make sure "maximise compatability" is set to "always".

Mine was always set to that and it still did not work...? I will try a TIFF file! :) Thx for your time!
There are things that change from version to version, to make sure that PS 6 can read a version 7 file you have to make sure you aren't using anything new that isn't supported in 6.
I should also mention that the help files tell you what things are added and will not work in previous versions. Here is a link (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=284490) to a thread where I laid out where to find that info. This was a question about version 8 down to 7 but it should still work for you.
