Hello everyone,

Wonder if you can help I'm in the middle of modelling a photorealistic character for my final year project for uni and I need some help sourcing textures for eyes. I've created cartoony characters and created the eyes for them but so I have tried painting my own with photoshop but i dont seem to be able to get them to look right.

How have other people gone about getting the right look for the eyes ?
Any help would be amazing

Cheers
Adz

well you can make a photo. And thats realistic :)
You could try making eyes brown, so thay won't be that visible, couse you know you don't have to know how t odo everything if you get the job done anyway!
stay chilled!

Have you tried this tutorial?

I think it's great. The same guy does also a tutorial about the modeling of the eyes which gives very nice results.
You can find all his tutorials on antropus.com under the tutorial section.

You can find another tutorial about eyes here
http://www.3dluvr.com/rogueldr/tutorials/eye/eyes.html
It does not tell much about the creation of the texture though.

Just the other day I had to do a quick eye texture and I used a combination of both photo and painted. Its a bit sloppy on parts but for a quickie and using relatively low res reference for eyes (didn't have time to shoot some good stuff) I think the results are good. 3d.sk is a sweet site for reference but they don't have any good macro shots of eyes. Don't be afraid to combine photo and painted. Do whats looks good and doesn't waste a lot of time.
