What do you guys think of using dynamics for real world simulation stuff, or just using key framing doing the dynamics yourself with no help from the dynamics system. Some think that they would rather use the key frame method, I would would rather use dynamics, but Im just posting this to see what you guys think about the whole thing.

Why not use both, just use them when they are more appropriate. Like any job everything has a time and a place depending on how much time and people you have.

we just recently finished a project with a gumball going thru a gumball machine......used dynamics, it looked great!! Saved a lot of time and it was exactly how the client wanted it to look.

There is def nothing wrong with dynamics, in fact, they used em a lot in Star Wars........some things would be near impossible to animated by hand!!!

this is really a question you cannot answer. it depends if you have time for R&D etc etc etc.

just imo you can use dynamics. you can always set passive keyframes if something doesn't look the way you wanted.

if you're really familiar with dyn then use it, otherwise spend a few weeks in try thing out.
