Does anybody have any experience regarding Maya running on a Media Center computer? Everywhere I look they say that Windows Media Center is really XP Pro at its core so I was thinking of switching over to Media Center for some of the functionality it provides.

I know Alias lists XP Pro as the required system, but I was curious about anybody's personal experience with the matter.

System Info:

Athlon XP 2500+
2 GB RAM
120 GB SATA HD
60 GB IDE HD
128MB ATI FireGL T2

i am running windows media center 2005 and it is windows xp pro at its core. i dont use maya so i dont know how it will react on it tho but i think it is a good investment and also a cheaper way to get xp pro functionality

Try installing the Personal Learning Edition and see what happens.
