With lightwave supporting N-gons (5 point polys) in the next version... I'm pretty sure Messiah will support it too.

But let's wait for the official announcement.

Funny that Lightwave and Messiah are the last 3d apps who still doesn't support N-gons.

Iīm not quite sure if I remember right, but someone (pmg guy?!) once wrote that the 4point limited Subpatches/Metanurbs are faster to calculate than an n-gon Subdiv Scheme/Algorithm.
N-gon support as an alternative*, yes.

As a replacement*, no.

*provided that itīs less fast

Lightwave has it ( after years of complaints), modo will have it to. this is really important imo.

Distortion-free UV mapping on SDS meshes. Would be nice. Does anyone with Modo know if the smooth UV mapping on SubDs work with Messiah? Is it something with the map itself or is it something that has to happen with the renderer?

Are we talking about N-gons here?

Lightwave currently does NOT have N-gons while Modo HAS it since version 1.

Cheers
